Description
An instrument with a fast-neutron source and a slow (thermal or epithermal) neutron detector which measures the moisture content of soil in terms of the detector count rate, after relating this count rate to the moisture content of the soil by calibration. It consists of a probe containing the source and detector and an electronic unit indicating the count rate.
